What Should You Wear on a Date?
Whether you’ve been with the same significant other for years or are getting ready to meet someone for the first time, deciding what to wear on a date can be daunting. Is it an active date with mini golf or bowling? Is it the classic dinner and a movie? The activities that are planned can largely determine what you will wear. But what if you want to narrow down your options to make it less confusing? How will you do that?
In this post, I’m sharing my favorite date night look that would be perfect for almost anything- from bowling to a nice dinner. Keep reading to find out why this look is my go-to!
A Simple Date Night Look
For me, comfort is key. One of my worst fears is being out and about, wanting to have a good time, and instead worrying about my clothes and how I look. That’s why I usually stick with flats. I definitely do not want my feet to hurt if we are going to be walking from place to place. In this post, I’m wearing one of my favorite new pairs of woven flats. To see more of these flats and get the link to shop, check out a recent post of mine about staples for summer.
Then, I will either wear a loose dress or skirt and top. However, most of the time I wear a nice pair of denim on a date. I just feel like I have more freedom, especially if the activity is active. To keep things from looking too formal, I usually wear my lightly distressed American Eagle denim for date nights (similar here). The high waist and super stretch fabric is key for comfort.
When it comes to tops, choose something unique. If you are meeting someone for the first time, this is where you can really let your personality shine without sacrificing comfort. Something like this Ivy on Oak Strappy Top is perfect. I’ve never seen anything like it! The chambray fabric keeps everything casual, but the strap design is unique while not being too over-the-top. I pulled my hair back to keep cool and added some fun earrings to tie everything together.
Be You. Be Real.
No matter what you wear on a date, make sure it is YOU. Make sure that you are always dressing to reflect your personal style and taste. There’s nothing worse than trying to be someone you’re not! Let your personality shine and have a great date night! 🙂
