We recently ventured to the southeastern coast to explore three cities that had been on our list for ages. The first stop was Savannah, Georgia. It did not disappoint! The city was absolutely magical. Even though it was overcast and a little rainy at times, it added to the gloom of the old trees dripping in Spanish moss. We began our day with a run through Forsyth park. Forsyth is one of the largest parks in the city featuring a fountain modeled after the fountains in Paris. The roses at the Fragrant Garden inside Forsyth Park were in full bloom. The petals looked so beautiful after the rain!
The ONLY Place to get Brunch in Savannah
We chose the Collins Quarter Restaurant. It was right on the corner of one of Savannah’s many parks. The coffee and food was to die for! We would go here again in a heartbeat. Everything we had was AMAZING.
The rain let up just in time to walk around the city. I absolutely fell in love with the old trees and houses. Sometimes, I would just stop and stare. I was trying to commit to memory what it looked and felt like to be there. Does anyone else do that?
Dinner and Drinks
Of course, we stopped at a few breweries and bars while wandering around. Savannah has an open container policy, so we could get our drinks to go! Six Pence is a traditional English pub with great cocktails. Drew’s must visit was Moon River Brewery. It is Savannah’s Haunted Brewery! We walked down into the ‘supposed’ haunted basement; I’ll say it was creepy and we didn’t stay long!
To end the day, we needed somewhere with delicious food. Many of our friends had been to Savannah before, and one recommendation was to make sure we stopped at Treylor Park for good, southern food. We decided to eat dinner there. We had the PB + J wings and pancake tacos. Everything was finger-licking-tasty. I love creative food, especially when it’s comfort food too!
That rounds out our day in Savannah! Have you ever been? What’s next on your travel list? Share below!
